Upcoming digital event: Next Wave Talent https://www.recruitmentmarketing.com.au/upcoming-digital-event-next-wave-talent/ https://www.recruitmentmarketing.com.au/upcoming-digital-event-next-wave-talent/#respond Thu, 02 Jul 2020 23:25:09 +0000 https://www.recruitmentmarketing.com.au/?p=6570 The Recruitment Events Co. Australia and New Zealand is launching their free digital event, Next Wave Talent, for Talent Acquisition team members from 21st-24th July.  Next Wave Talent is a digital event focused on riding the wave of change and asking, “What can we do better in talent?” “We are the influencers,” says Renae Peattie, Marketing Manager for The Recruitment Events Co. “Let’s make ourselves talent nurturers, ambassadors. Let’s think about talent holistically from workforce planning to employee engagement.”  The event takes place for 2.5hours over four days. Topics cover the four pillars of talent:  talent activation and attraction campaigns and scaling up automation retention, upskilling and experience.  Talent Acqusition team members can register for the event here.  We spoke with Peattie to learn more about the Next Wave Talent event.  Is this your first digital event? What inspired the topics and theme for the event?  Next Wave Talent was originally intended to be held as live events (in Sydney and Melbourne) in May this year when we were planning them with our Headline Sponsor, PageUp. Due to COVID-19, we pivoted to a digital event which will be held over 4 days with 2.5 hours of content each day.  To ensure that the event was correctly targeted to the needs of the Talent Acquisition community, we developed a survey to find out which topics were most relevant to their roles given the impact of Coronavirus on many businesses. The content for Next Wave Talent came from what our community wanted to hear more about in the current environment. Is there any cost to attend?  Next Wave Talent is free to attend and is being held at two different times (10.30am and 3.00pm AEST) to enable participants Australia-wide, as well as those in the Asia-Pacific region to attend. What kind of TA leaders is this event most suited to?  We called the event ‘Next Wave Talent’ as it is really focused on the ‘Next Wave’ or the future of talent.  It’s suited to anyone who wants to explore this concept. Should TA officers attend if they’re not looking to recruit for the next few months?   When speaking with our TA community, we found that many wanted to examine the topic of talent more holistically as for them, active recruitment has taken more of a back seat.  The topics we cover include workforce planning, redeployment, internal mobility and employee engagement, amongst others.  For those businesses that are still recruiting, they wanted to explore topics such as remote hiring and onboarding. Which speakers are you personally looking forward to hearing?  I’m personally looking forward to hearing Bas van der Haterd, who will be speaking about volume hiring and assessments. He’s been a consultant on selecting and implementing the right tooling for the Dutch ministry of foreign affairs and the University of Twente, amongst others. He has spoken on the topic of using assessments to select better talent all over the world, from Dubai to Jaipur and from Berlin and Amsterdam to London and Brussels. Talent Acqusition team members can register for the event here.
